Medical Research

CNA – Certified Nurse Assistant

By combining 75 hours of classroom instruction with 100 hours of “hands on” direct care training, students will have the skills and knowledge to enter one of the fastest growing professions in the healthcare industry. Students learn basic nursing skills through classroom discussions, demonstrations and simulations, and presentations by healthcare professionals. Upon completion, you’ll have doors open to opportunity to launch a career that will be rewarding for you and your patients.

Program Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Provide a copy of a current signed/valid Social Security card and goverment issued photo ID
  • Provide a copy of 2 negative TB PPD skin tests or 1 negative TB blood test or 1 negative chest x-ray that is less than 6 months old on the first day of class (included in scholarship funding)
  • Background check must be free of felony history (charges/convictions)
  • Student must be registered with the Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) https://health.mo.gov/safety/fcsr
  • Have reliable transportation and dependable childcare
Medical Education

CMT – Certified Medication Technician

CNA’s may advance your career by training to be a CMT in as little as 12 weeks. By combining 60 hours of classroom instruction with a minimum of 8 hours of clinical practice you will enhance your skills and be able to administer medications at all levels of long-term care. Students learn basic principles of medication administration through classroom discussions, demonstrations and simulations, and presentations by healthcare professionals.

Global Health

CPR/BLS

MEDS partners with Concepts of Care, LLC. to offer our students an American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers training. In this 4 hour course students will learn quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) with use of AED for all ages. Hands on practice for single and multi-rescuer CPR will give students confidence in their life saving skills. With the knowledge and skills you learn in this course you will be prepared to provide your patient with the best chance of survival.
